Zombicide: 2nd Edition

Standalone game

The zombies came from nowhere and destroyed the world we used to know. A few brave, ordinary people united and took up arms against the infected horde. These survivors roam the city, looking for supplies, payback, and fun at the zombies’ expense.
You are survivors. The past is gone. Choose your fate! Now is the time for challenge, danger, freedom, and friendship.
Now is the time for… Zombicide!

Play as a team against a zombie invasion, in a world inspired by action and horror movies! Zombies are controlled by the game itself, using simple rules and a deck of cards. Find weapons, kill zombies, and build your survivor’s adrenaline to unlock their true potential. The more zombie you kill, the more of them are coming!

Zombicide: 2nd Edition contains updated, streamlined rules and materials from the classic Zombicide sets. Choose between 12 survivors (6 adults, 6 kids) to build your dream team, going fast and loud through the 25 missions made using the modular map tiles.

Zombicide: 2nd Edition goes way beyond a second take of the same game. Rules have been streamlined, offering a quicker setup and resolution for everything related to survivors (new car rules, friendly fire) and zombies (quicker spawning, simplified targeting priority order) alike. Using the numbered cards, the game difficulty can be tuned up or down to suit your needs and playtime.

New game modes have been introduced as well (Abomination Fest, companions, fighting in the dark). The original 10 missions have been adjusted to fit with the new rules, and 15 more have been added, for a total of 25 missions.

Please note free missions are added regularly, and are available here.

Zombicide: 2nd Edition is a cooperative board game where 1 to 6 players take the roles of survivors battling zombies controlled by the game itself. The game is about fellowship, heart-pounding action, and reaching victory against impossible odds.

The game’s goal is to choose a mission and complete its objectives, killing as many zombies as possible along the way. The monsters are unpredictable and come in greater numbers as adrenaline builds up, threatening to overwhelm the survivors. Keep an eye on each other’s back!

Survivors use whatever weapons they can get to kill zombies and slow down the invasion. The better the weapon, the higher the body count, but the more zombies will appear, attracted by the onslaught.

The best weapon, however, is cooperation. All players win or lose together, and only through team spirit will the survivors give the best of themselves, unlocking powerful skills and access to the best weapons. Cooperation is the key to survival and victory!

Will you roam the streets and explore the city as an adult, or as a kid? You choose! 5 of the 6 survivors from the original Zombicide come back with revised art and ID Cards, and they are not alone.

6 kid survivors are here as well, pulling their own weight and way, way more! They may not be as tough as adults (they may endure up to 2 wounds, against 3 for the adults), but it’s not a big deal: they are agile enough to escape the zombies’ clutches. Zombies can’t hurt what they can’t touch! And yes: kids are allowed to drive cars and smash zombies.

Each Survivor possess their own set of skills and playstyle. A Survivor starts with a single Skill; killing zombies earns Adrenaline Points: reaching milestones, called Danger Levels (Blue, Yellow, Orange, and Red) allows the players to choose additional Skills, and also increase the zombie spawn. The stronger you get, the more zombies come (and the other way around).

According to the survivors and skills you choose, you may play the same game twice with completely different experiences!

Each Survivor receives their own dashboard to keep them organized. A built in sliding arrow tracks their experience gains, and plastic pegs mark wounds and indicate new Skills. Finally, multiple slots hold all your cards, making the inventory system intuitive and structured.

The dashboard also stores the Equipment cards the survivors find along the game: each Equipment card is set in the dedicated slot to be used. Weapons are equipped in both Hand slots, on each side of the dashboard.

Equipment you don’t use is stored in the Backpack slots, on top of the dashboard. Equipment cards include melee weapons, ranged weapons, and survivor items like food, flashlights, and plenty of ammo.

The Molotov, Zombicide’s signature weapon, can now be found in the Equipment deck: use it to eliminate everything in the target zone!

Scattered across the board, pimpweapon crates hold the best weapons in the game: the pimpweapons.

Each of them is the best in its category, and/or offers unique game features. Make sure to pick them up whenever possible!

The most powerful cars are still running during the apocalypse, allowing the survivors to drive around the city and rolling over zombies, pedal to the metal! Each pimpmobile may have a single pimpweapon in its trunk, while regular equipment may be found in police cars. Car rules have been completely revised, allowing a new and more balanced gaming experience.

Zombicide comes with enough zombie miniatures to invade your city. Most of them are simple Walkers, easy enough to eliminate but coming in ever increasing numbers.

The stronger ones are called Brutes, and need more powerful weapons to be dealt with. And then come the Runners, predators hiding behind other zombies and chasing survivors with terrifying speed!

Zombie cards have been edited to spawn a single zombie type, and in greater amount. The less time you spend handling the zombies, the more you have to play against them!

The game also come with 4 Abominations, real zombie tanks towering above the horde. Be very careful around them, and keep a Molotov handy, just in case!

Each Abomination comes with its own card, detailing its special abilities. An Abomination card is drawn at random whenever the game requires an Abomination to spawn: tailor your Abomination deck to suit your needs and playstyle!

Zombicide comes with 9 double-sided tiles, each with original art. These tiles may be arranged in a nearly infinite numbers of ways to create any district to raid or defend against the zombies.

Use them to play the rule book missions, or create your own board in any way you please! Watch out for the dark zones: this is where the zombies spawn when you open a building.

For an easier setting, each tile features closed doors (a token is placed whenever they are opened), as well as predefined zones for objectives and pimpweapon tokens.
