“Ranching ain’t hard, so long as you’re good managin’ the herd and a rifle. Life ain’t changed much.”
Marcie owned one of the largest ranches in the territory. What beef she didn’t send up north she’d share out with the town. On occasion rustlers and bandits would need some encouragement to take their business elsewhere, and her rifle was known as the sharpest around. She even took on the job of deputy for a brief spell when an entire gang thought the locals would make easy pickings. That’s the past now. The rifle still gets a lot of use, but she does miss her ranch.
