Nora’s work with steam-augmented prosthetics originally began to help her younger brother walk again after an unfortunate bout of polio as a child. And indeed she was successful! Her designs were hailed as revolutionary by both the medical and scientific fields on both continents. Yet, she knew they could do more than just help the disabled walk again. The latest exo-prosthetics, as she calls them, not only give legs to the legless, but also let them run as fast as a horse at full gallop!
