The expansion includes six new Survivors ready to face the apocalypse

Rio Z Janeiro adds new skills to the Zombicide system and expands character development through an all-new Campaign Sheet system.

Survivors earn Campaign Experience that persists throughout the campaign, unlocking powerful rewards and representing their growth from ordinary people into hardened veterans.

RZJ Campaign Components

Major choices and accomplishments are recorded as Campaign Achievements. These achievements influence future events, unlock narrative content, affect companions, and may even change the course of the entire campaign

Objective tokens are replaced with a deck of narrative Objective Cards.

Whenever a Survivor discovers an Objective, players reveal a new piece of the story, encounter unexpected events, uncover useful allies, or make important decisions that influence the campaign’s future. Hidden Notes expand the narrative even further, creating a rich story-driven experience rarely seen in Zombicide.

Every time a Survivor suffers damage, they draw from the new Wound Deck. Some injuries create lasting complications, others grant desperate bursts of determination, and a few might prove even more dangerous than the zombies themselves. No two wounds are ever quite the same.

RZJ Tiles

Rio Z Janeiro introduces a collection of innovative gameplay systems inspired by the unique geography of Rio.

Zombies can emerge from unexpected locations throughout the mission, keeping players constantly on edge with the Surprise Spawns.

Navigate the Narrow Zones of Rio’s favelas. Limited occupancy, restricted movement, and the terrifying Zombie Pull mechanic make these areas unlike any terrain previously seen in Zombicide.

Break through Thin Walls to create shortcuts, but be careful. Destroying walls changes the battlefield and can open new dangers as well as new opportunities.
