Jacquin – Palace Concierge
« Such lack of grace will not be tolerated! »
For thirty-eight years Jacquin has been head concierge at one of Paris’s palace hotels, where he has found a harpist at three in the morning and never once raised his voice. Two antique cavalry sabers hang behind his desk. Once a year he takes them down to open the champagne at the New Year’s gala, and he has never spilled a drop. The dead track filth across his marble and grab at his guests. He took both sabers off the wall. Nobody in the lobby has complained about the service since.
