MC Jordim – Funkeiro
“People will sing about us after this. I’ll make sure I’m one of them.”
Jordim’s tracks are banned from three radio stations and played at every baile in the North Zone of Rio. He grew up at those all-night parties, where the speaker stacks tower over the houses and the lights cut out whenever someone trips a cable, so fighting in the dark doesn’t bother him. He has never met a crowd he couldn’t get moving, and the dead are no exception. His next video was set to shoot the day after Carnaval, with a gold rifle as the centerpiece. The prop never arrived, so he found a real rifle and a can of gold spray paint. He calls his survival luck. His mom, whose tattoo sits over his heart, calls it her prayers.
